Quick differentiation ideas in PE

April 13, 2011

I had a young and enthusiastic PE teacher in one of my autism workshops this week and he inspired me to create a post for his classroom.

I found that there are not too many websites or blogs out there with helpful hints for this group but PE Central does have one nice page of ideas for adapting various games and activities. The game and sports suggestions will be welcome by many K-12 PE teachers and coaches and the cross-activity modifications (rules, actions, time) can give all teachers ideas for changing up classroom lessons.

    Hi,
I run a company called Teachers In Sport and we specialise in Professional Development for PE Teachers. I myself am a trained teacher and former special needs teacher. We have run programmes for teachers that specifically deal with teaching sport and PE to children with Autism. If you would like any assistance with this I would be happy to help out.
Our weekly blog that we provide to teachers that discusses the better teaching of PE may be of interest. It’s here at http://teachersinsport.wordpress.com

    Kind Regards,
    Ben
