MLK lessons to use all year long

January 17, 2011

I am not posting a site specifically related to differentiation today. Instead, I thought I would share the MLK Jr. Research and Education Institute for those who have not yet visited. The liberation curriculum is a must-see section of the site and contains several teaching ideas and resources. Lessons presented will appeal to many different types of learners and include opportunities for role-play, whole-class discussion, and problem-solving.

Those pillow cases can be stuffed with student coats to make reading pillows. When I taught first grade the students were thrilled to snuggle up with their books and pillows under their desks or on our gathering rug. It was easy to take the cases home and wash them for the next Snuggle Up to a Book Read.
